What many know of the Middle East is often limited to the information disseminated in the media. Countries such as Iran, Iraq, Kuwait and Afghanistan to name a few, are all too often the ones that involve conflicts and the tragic events. This region of the planet is best known for its hostile and difficult environment. For the city of Dubai (though it shares the same territory) it’s a very different reality. Dubai is one of the United Arab Emirates and is managed by the Al Maktoum dynasty.

Created in the 18th century, Dubai was initially recognized for the pearl trade up until the 1930s. After the Second World War, following the discovery of oilfields in the Persian Gulf, Dubai focused on the trade of fossil fuels and prospered for several decades. In recent years, seeing the depletion of oil wells approaching, Dubai redirected its economic activities towards tourism with the intent to eventually become the ultimate destination for luxury vacations and business dealings. BBC Ride the Mountain

I had never visited California’s Big Bear Choppers before but having received an invitation for their Ride the Mountain event (now in its 7th year) and also because their bikes are now on sale in Canada, I jumped at the occasion.

B BC is located in the town of Big Bear Lake situated in the San Bernardino Mountains. In the summer this town is a popular tourist destination because of its lakes and water sports. The ski resorts are also a great attraction in winter. Big Bear Lake is located two and a half hours from Los Angeles and at an altitude of over 7500 feet. The winding road that brings you there is unbelievable, with viewpoints of a landscape that must definitely be seen.
