Born Free 3
For the past few years I’ve been hearing much talk about a little bike show out in the Sunshine State of which the primary focus was to go back to the “roots” of custom bike building as a whole. The concept was first developed by a couple of buddies who were tired of going to bike shows that were asking an exaggerated amount of cash as an entry fee and that didn’t deliver much in the form of unique handcrafted custom machines. They were fed up with the same ‘ol – same ‘ol billet barges and manufacturers that came to the motorcycle playing field just to make a quick buck. They decided it was time to resurrect the type of bike show that echoed the beginnings of a treasured lifestyle, a bike show with an essence that can only be found in books and magazines (and of course films) from the 1960’s and 70’s. June 25th of this year...
Drags & Quebec Vintage Motorcycle
For the first time in their history, two major motorcycle events joined forces to offer a fantastic weekend. The Quebec Vintage Motorcycle Classic and the Saint-Perpétue motorcycle drags united under one roof (or rather in one field) for a two-day motorcycle event that satisfied the appetite of many bikers. Drag racing, classic bikes and a live rock band. A great recipe for a great time!
This year hundreds of bikes and thousands of people were present on June 3 and 4. On Saturday, the busiest day of the week-end, race fans enjoyed the warmth of the sun, good company and
good beer as they watched the competitions from the filled-to-capacity bleachers. In the past decade, unlike the rest of Canada, Quebec has seen a decline in participation as well as for the general...
Art Tattoo Montreal
The 8th annual Montreal Art Tattoo Show took place on September 10, 11 and 12, 2010 at the magnificent Windsor Station. Lovers of distinctive art and tattooing turned up in large numbers to meet the two hundred artists on site. Over ten thousand visitors roamed the historically impressive Montreal railway landmark filled with glass doors and ceilings!
A multitude of new tattoo gun slingers joined the

The “newbies” included Ichibay from Three Tides in Japan, Chad Koeplinger, Norm AWR, the known graffiti-tattoo artist from Los Angeles, Mason Williams who served his apprenticeship under Kore Flatmo, Rudy De Amicis, Pat from Burly Fish Tattoo and Greg from Tattoo Faction.
Montreal Art Tattoo attendees could also revisit old friends such as Turk from LHBLK (USA), Seth Wood and Chuck D, William Thidemann, Julian and Dan from 5cents in Ottawa, Shamus from MTL Tattoo, Sandra and Greg from Sacre Bleu as well as our friends from Art Corpus. XR1200 Cup
This year a whole new class is emerging at the
Canadian National Superbike Championship
CSBK sponsored by Parts Canada. Harley-
Davidson introduced the XR1200 model to
the road racing competition. This is a very
competitive class where the bikes are all of
equal power with only slight modifications
allowed.
Five rounds are scheduled in 2011. The next round will
take place on August 5-7 at the Atlantic Motorsports
Park, Enfield, in Nova Scotia. The last round is scheduled
on August 19-21 at Mosport International Raceway in
Bowmanville, Ontario.
For the first time RMM was on hand to cover this great
event, a happening not to be missed for motorcycle fans.
In addition you can take part in Demo-Rides and visit the
show’s many exhibitor booths.
