Ezekiel
I was introduced to the world of custom bikes while building
a showroom for Azzkikr Customs. It was so intriguing
to me how this group of custom builders could produce
such a wide variety of custom bikes. It didn’t seem to
matter what style of bike their customers wanted, they
all were built with the same level of detail and finish
that put them a cut above anything else on the road.
Whether the customer wanted an old school bobber,
a radical bagger or a modern crotch-rocket, these guys
built the meanest bikes around. Since that time I have
been an admirer of Azzkikr Customs and their continuing
development and growth. So when “Smitty”, Azzkikr’s
Sales Manager, asked me to write a few words about the
company’s latest creation called Ezekiel, I merely grinned
while nodding my head in confirmation.

Every now and then there are moments in life when
you have to stop, shake your head and smile. For the
builders at Azzkikr Customs that moment came when
they decided to build a bike that would show the
rest of the world something wild, powerful and very
different. The bike also had to reveal to all other
custom bike builders that the Azzkikr boys were
capable of creating a custom...
Bio-Freak
Looking back to the year 2003, I couldn’t have
imagined the amount of work that was to come
in the future. Building bikes and traveling
from coast to coast, in this country and
across the border in the USA, showing our
bikes at major events kept us very busy. The
year 2008 was a very hectic one that included
building a new shop, moving everything in
and ended with our grand opening in December
(all that in between new bike projects).
With 2009 rolling in, I knew what we had to
do and that was to build a new FREAKSHOW
CHOPPERS bike.
Our last “Freakshow” bike did very
well at the Toronto International Super
Show in January 2009 winning
the Builder Class, Best Metalwork,
Best Radical and Best Wheels
categories. After Art returned
from that phenomenal weekend
we started building the new
BIO-FREAK that you see here.

Others from around the globe often
criticize Canadian chopper builders for
not fabricating their own one-of-a-kind
motorcycle frames. Of course regulations
in this country almost totally oblige
custom cycle designers from not shifting
too far from the status quo, therefore
making it difficult to create a chopper that
progresses out from the common place.
Not an easy task considering that frame
dimensions are often predetermined
by those in the frame manufacturing
business. Alain “Touring” Tourigny of
Touring Creation took on this challenge
by turning something good into something even better. His venture started with a Nasty Boys custom frame made in
the “Yours to Discover” province of Ontario.
What distinguishes all of Touring’s bikes from the others is that Alain’s creations
have killer looks from all angles, out front, the sides...
Camo-Toe
When I first laid eyes on this bike back in the spring of 2009 it was in its
raw form, but even at that point a massive adrenaline rush overwhelmed me. I
experienced steaming hot flashes, and my tongue became extremely enlarged
(not to mention the shakes, cold sweat, drooling and temporary speech
impediment thereafter). It was one of those moments! What can
I say? With this job it’s a common occurrence but even
more so whenever I walk into After Dark Motorcycles!
I’m absolutely positive that this team
of crazed dusk to dawn militant
motor-heads take great joy
in watching me go into serious out of order physical condition. In fact I’m convinced they get a
kick out of it, their laughter gives them away every time! Yes it’s a bitch of a job
with all that abuse, but hey, that’s the price I pay for bringing you their finest in
internal combustion activated machines.
Why a tribute to our Canadian troops? Well according to Cordell one
of the owners of After Dark Motorcycles, about five years ago the shop filled
out a work order to accommodate the customizing...
